As we continue through the summer, there are many people who are taking long vacations away from home to visit new places, friends, and family. For some people, taking their dog on vacation is a must, but for others, it is simply not an option. Maybe the hotel is not pet friendly or maybe your dog gets carsick and you would rather not put them through the anxiety of travel. Whatever the reason may be for not taking your pup on the family vacation, we know it is important to make arrangements for them while you are gone.
Usually, the first thing many people think of when looking for pet care while they are gone is to reach out to a friend or family member. However, this is not always the best option. We want to explain to you why dog boarding is better than having your friend watch your dog.
Dog boarding has been around for several decades, but it has become increasingly popular over the last few years as people are now taking longer, more frequent trips and are looking for more ideal care for their furry friends. Instead of leaving their dogs with a friend, they are taking them to a boarding facility where they get around-the-clock care in a hotel-like setting. Think of this as a little vacation for your dog!
Pets can sometimes get anxious when we are away, and having a stranger come into their home can actually make that anxiety even worse. It is important to understand that there are many benefits that come with boarding your pet, so let’s take a look at a few.
When you choose to board your dog or cat at Pet Palace, you can benefit from professional care, a structured environment, and socialization opportunities. Our staff is trained to make your pet feel right at home while you are away. They provide professional care, give your pet plenty of attention, can administer medication, and beyond.
Plus, the structured environment we operate in gives your pet plenty of room to roam but is also safe and secure. Our dog villas and suites are finished with heating and air conditioning systems, ensuring that your pet is comfortable, regardless of the temperature. We also have housekeeping staff services that ensure your pet’s sleeping area is cleaned every day.
Since your pet will be boarded with other animals, they will have the opportunity to socialize with others. This is a great way for your pets to get their energy out, enhance their communication skills, and improve their overall behavior.
Last but not least, our facilities always utilize fresh water and premium food. However, if your pet has food at home that they’ll like better, or they have special dietary restrictions, be sure to bring the food with you in pre-measured and pre-marked baggies and we’ll be happy to give it to them so they can maintain their routine.
No worries! The team at Pet Palace can administer medication to your pet in a way that makes them feel comfortable. And if your pet ends up needing veterinary attention, we will take them to your personal vet, pending your approval. After all, no one knows your pet better than your own vet.
Absolutely! We think this is an excellent way to assess the environment, meet the staff who will be taking care of your pet, and identify if everything aligns with your expectations.
Be sure to prep your pet with any necessary vaccinations, collect any of their favorite toys to go with them, and bring bagged food if that is something you prefer.
We encourage playful days and peaceful nights at Pet Palace. We understand that each pet is unique, which is why we have a baseline package and an “a la carte” activity menu. The baseline package comes with three outdoor bathroom breaks in our spacious and secure areas. If your pet needs extra activity time, you can add playtime, playgroups, and treats and puzzles.
We know that leaving your pet can cause some anxiety for you and your pup, but we want you to know that when you choose to board your dog during your vacation, you truly can have the peace of mind of knowing they will be happy and safe.
Think of it as a little getaway for your pup too! For more information on pricing and availability, be sure to contact us today!
